Would my amd 6000+ be useless with this hard drive?

yea it can be slow and maybe it would seem the same a slow cpu but they are completely independent in terms of their speeds

thats saying exactly what we're saying... that the cpu speed isn't affected, but it just sits there while your hard drive is trying to find whatever it is it needs to find. You want a fast hard drive (in terms of read and seek time and all that) but if you have a slow one it doesn't hurt your processor it just won't be as fast as your processor so it will make the whole machine SEEM slower... but the cpu will run at the same speed.

When you play an game it only uses the HDD (or event eh CD drive) to load the game. After that its usually for the GPU, CPU and RAM.

I don't really think you can get a "slow" hard drive anymore ('cept maybe a 5400RPM for a laptop)... there are just hard drive and fast hard drives. Most people can't even tell the difference.
