Would this be a good option??

Hey guys, im wondering if i'd make a good choice by upgrading my 7600gt to a 8600gts... Would it be a lot faster??? i'd run it on the system in my sig... the thing is that i cant afford one of the high-end cards like 8800 or 2900xt so i thought a 8600 series would be a good idea....
This is because i want to play Crysis when it comes out.... i know it wont max it out but just wanted to know if it would be good to go from a 7600gt.

Just save money because the 7600gt vs the 8600 gts is very similar you won't see that much of an improvement for the price you pay, so wait till you have enough for a 8800, and adding a second giga of ram will help as well

The 8600gts would give around 70-80% more, which is alot but the card itself probably won't be very impressive playing dx10.

The 7600gt is still an alright card, save up an extra hundred for a 8800, I agree with chupacabra.

Ya save for 8800.

In order to play crysis you don't need DX10 card,it's backward compatible.

Yeah I think you should save up, the performance gain from the 8600GT doesn't justify the cost.

do you feel like your video card is lacking? not working as well gaming as you'd like? yesterday was the first time i've run counterstrike (or any game) on my 7950 and i maxed out the settings and it looks great.
