would this work? *drool*

newegg has pretty good prices on stuff.

what other places do you suggest?

in response to the original post, i looked at the mobo and cpu, and they would work together.

but jeez, you have that much money to spend?

now seriously, what the hell was the point in that post xavierarmadillo.

Those graphics crds, they are the same ones they had in Dells Quad SLi system, each card has 2 cards on it. Shove two of those in SLi you theoretically have 4 graphics cards in SLi....... Nice!!!

Processor, i dont think its really worth spending all that money on a SKT 939 cpu when AM2 is so close round the corner and it will be superceeded, if i were you and had your budget (which i gather is substancial) then i would buy something like a S939 4400+ just to tide you over until AM2 comes out, then jump in deep and get the FX-60 and new AM2 mobo etc....

im sure you could find better RAM than mushkin though, try corsair XMS2 or OCZ platinum.

dragon2309 :D

all that looks good but i would get better memory that memory has bad timeings and latencys. and i would just get a amdX2 4200+ or 4400 + and buy am2 when it comes out.

guys... do seriously think i have that much money?
i only wish tho................................

fast haddrives... nice monitor

oh and the PC if you count evrything ends up being around 13,000

Well, seeing as this isnt a real build, I'll just talk about Newegg some...

Yes, newegg isn't always the cheapest, but they do have some of the best deals online. Also, they have a pretty good return/replacement warranty. Most places are just 30 days, where as newegg has 30 days for a refund, 1 year on most things for a replacement.

newegg is great because of their size and professionalism (if that's a word). I've bought from other places too to save a couple bucks, and quite honestly as far as I'm concerned it's not worth the headaches from the other sites to save a little. Cases in point: when I was building my comp, the x850's just came out and I was going to buy one from a site that had it like 20 bucks cheaper than newegg, long story short, 5 months later they still weren't "in stock" so I got a card from newegg (x800xl instead but no matter). Second story: I was buying a dsc-w5 right after they came out. Anyways, originally ordered it from some site that was $15 less than newegg, three weeks later and still no shipment I called them and they said they didn't have any of the refurbs in stock. Number one, I ordered a "new" one on their site, number two of course there's no refurbs cause it just came out, and then they did the "we're going to call you before we ship to ask if you want one of our overpriced accessories". I then cancelled that order and got it off newegg. So in conclusion, I've NEVER had an issue with newegg and between them, zipzoomfly, and xoxide, I really don't need any other stores to buy anything from.

Even if you don't plan to buy from newegg, they make a great site to link to on this sort of forum, as they provide heaps of information about their products on the one page.

nope. in DELL's quad SLI it was 4 7800gtx 512mb's made by Nvidia, not one of the companies like BFG or XFX. its not possible to put 2 of those dual GPU's into sli because its already SLI on one video board and they have lower clocks as thier GT's not GTX's.
it would be better to get Gygabytes dual SLI mobo(2x2) and get four 7800gtx 512mb's but it still wouldnt equal a Quad SLI.

and i think all thats a watse of money. might as well save and get a mid-high end comp evey 2-3 years witht hat kind of money.

Case: Cooler Master (serious OC)
Processor Cooling (big OC)
If you know well enough to OC, why ask a basic question about compatability?

It this a Newegg sponsered website or something. Seems like everyone buys from Newegg when they could buy things cheaper elsewhere.
I wish it was Newegg sponsered :) For the record, it is not (although you are right about it being cheaper elsewheres)

in DELL's quad SLI it was 4 7800gtx 512mb's made by Nvidia, not one of the companies like BFG or XFX.
In that case those arent market cards but rather just reference/engeneering samples as nVidia does not make videocards
