Would this work?

Hello everyone, i have been playing games on a laptop and all i can play is older games due to the crappy laptop. I have decided to build a desktop for gaming and just wanted some input as to if this would work. The games i will be playing is CS:S, some skyrim and the new counter strike game coming out this year.

The only thing i haven't decided on is a power supply because im just not sure what i need. Also, i found another motherboard that i am slightly leaning towards on buying instead of the one i have chosen above. Any input would be great, thanks in advance.

with that given mobo you would still need DDR3-1600 RAM if your don't plan on overclocking. your other link shows DDR3-2000

Yes i would like to run the newest games without overclocking anything. So if you could suggest the DDR3-1600 that you think would be best for both of the motherboards i provided i would appreciate it.

i got 8 gb of ram for $45. the same type of 23 inch monitor for $129 and a 1TB 7200 harddrive for the same price u have...if ASUS is all that matters then thats cool...but you can get more for less on those things i mentioned.

all on newegg too

well if all that you mentioned is compatible then you have no worries

I might ask what RAM you chose though

Do you have an operating system? windows is 100 bucks

this case is better quality and better cable management so you will get better airflow in the case (it allows you to run the cables behind the motherboard), also newegg has the black bezelled version of that case for like 50

this is a good power supply and will do fine, plus is on sale

if you don't order before the sale is over i'd recomend this power supply, also good quallity but actually has more power than the other for a few bucks more

also really you could go amd which will play any game out at just as high settings, the only difference will be a few frames and that's only when it's in the 100's, otherwise there is almost no difference in-game. save some money and upgrade the graphics though is why i was saying this. either way i'd buy a cooler master hyper 212 evo and overclock it like crap, i know the 2500k will hit 4.5ghz with it for just about 30 bucks i think, and i think amd will go about the same.
