it should run but it'd be better if you had more ram in my opinion. you may want to get a dual core processor to improve the responsiveness of the OS but i ran the RC2 version for a while with no apparent problems.
Right, I don't really want to buy some more RAM so I think I may leave it to be honest... I think I may wait a bit and then think about it... Thanks for the help
It will run fine on your system. You may want to buy a 1GB flash drive though and use it for ReadyBoost, which takes some of the load from your RAM and PageFile.
i just got vista, and have used it for a bit. The interface is nice, but i have found quite a few compatibility issues. I would wait a bit till other 3rd party companies sort there latest versions out to work with vista etc..
Kornowski posted if the e6300 would work with his current system he never said any thing about getting a new board. Thats why I stated that the e6300 would not work with current system.
-several blue screen of deaths
-AVG firewall and anti virus compatibility issues
-Nero compatibility issues
-Firefox keeps asking me if it wants to be default browser after several yes's
I am using vista and have never had a BSOD, error (other than installing Visual Studio) and my firefox doesn't keep asking to be default. And yea the Aunti Virus thing is a royal pain in the ass!
I've had vista running for 15 days, never once has it crashed, I'm fine with A/V using avast, firefox is willingly the default browser, and the only compatability issue i've had is with Aptana. On my computer it is running pretty well, admittedly it takes a little longer than XP to start up, but once it's going it runs fine
