Dear CF,

I am about to buy a computer for my gaming needs. I don't need the best but am looking for a CPU 3.0 GHz or over. I have come across two desktops I might want

I actually think the case is uglier on the walmart one than the dell but that doesn't matter. I am hesitant about the walmart one because it is AMD, does this matter? Does anyone have a better deal they have seen? Which one is better?

Budget is around $500
 
the walmart would game much better, the only thing better about the dell is the processor, but to game on it as good as the other, you would have to buy a new power supply and a new graphics card. although for 500 you could probably build something better

What games are you planning on playing?

These computers that you have picked are really bad for gaming.

One of them has Intel HD graphics, which is really bad for gaming and the other one has a GT 520, which is a very old graphics card.

If you're going to be playing any demanding games then you'll definitely have to upgrade them.
 
Mass effect, Mass effect 2, TF2, starcraft 2, minecraft.

And if I have to buy parts and upgrade I know how to do that, and I knew the dell one had crap graphics since it's integrated. But which one is better? These are the only two i found in my budget.
 
the ibuypower is better stock, the dell would be better upgraded with a new power supply and graphics card.

and th gt520 isn't an old card, it's the newest series from nvidia, it's just a low end card designed more for htpc's, or media centers.

and again, you could probably build one better for the same price, want us to make a list?

I tried making my own list but I am too picky and anal about that stuff that I spend way too much time picking the perfect motherboard.
