WoW Issue...Sound

Ive noticed this for a couple of months. I have reinstalled the game to fix the problem, but that hasnt worked. My problem is that whenever I play the sound for the game, for a lengthy period of time (maybe 15-20 mins) I get a blank blue screen, and have to restart. Its very weird because I dont have the problem with Counter Strike, nor with listening to music. Just with the WoW sound and music. Whats the problem here, I honestly thought reinstallation would fix this issue. The problem doesn't occur when I turn off the sound and continue playing. But playing with no sound doesn't give me the "true" feel of the game, as corny as it sounds. Any suggestions?

Also, sort of a side question here but when I defragment my HD, I get a notice that the process could not complete because of certain files that were active at the time of defragmenting. And they both are under my WoW folder, whats the deal with those two being active while the others aren't?

Thanks for the help.

Have you updated your sound drivers lately?

I have not come across (or heard of) that issue since Windows 98... errr is that what your running? Anyway if you kill all unnecessary processes you should be able to defrag the hd without that issue coming up. Also there are 3'rd party drive defrag apps that might help.

I haven't updated my drivers yet, but I dont remember what type of soundcard I have, I know its a Soundblaster Live! type card (did i just answer my own problem?)

What might some of those 3rd party apps. be named? Are they credible? I've never heard of those before.

If you type "dxdiag" (without the quotes) in the run dialogue you'll get the diagnostic tool. Look under the sound tab for your sound information.

Yes I'd imaging they'd be credible. I honestly do not know any of the applications personally, I just know they exist. If you Google searched, I'm sure you would come across a few. There are some freeware applications that are supposed to be great.

Yes, If you are sure it is a Soundblaster Live! then you'd want to download the drivers for that card.

Update on my situation. I found out that my soundcard was indeed the one I listed above. And I proceeded to download the drivers for that card. The installation went fine, from what I know (no problems or anything like that). I remember the name as something to the effect of Kx project, somethin like that..that is where I downloaded them from. But...I play today and about 10 mins later I get those blue screens still. They are so annoying, and not playing with sound really irks me...what else should I do?
