I am downloading a game, and at the beggining, for like half a second, I was at 6800 kb/s!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMFG!!!! My 600kbit/s ADSL never gets that high! But how is this possible?? I mean 6800 kb/s... That's just killer...

Well when you click on a link ... between the time you click on the linky and when the filespace is allocated and/or the saveas dialog box pops up... it starts downloading... and so when it calculates the download speed it does it based on "amount downloaded / time elapsed" -- so when the download starts, it has some stuff downloaded .... but the timer only starts after the filename has been assigned -- not when the downloading may actually starts :)
