If I could buy 1,000,000,000 on runescape, which is about the same as one million wow money for that amount of money, I would If I had the money.
edit: But that would get my account banned, so I would not.

if you know how to do it on rs you wont get banned, i know where to get it for $5/mil, so it would come out to 8000 mil :D
 
To my knowledge the current cap on how much gold you can have in the game is somewhere along the lines of 100,000 or so.

EDIT- Google search revealed the gold cap in WoW to be 214,748 gold, 36 silver, 48 copper. So he's basically S.O.L. unless he wants to distribute it across 5 characters, which is bound to get him caught, his account banned, and his $40k literally deleted.
 
travis, how rich are you, and on runescape the cap is 2,178,000,000(i know its more than this but i cant remember)
 
He seems to be financially stable. I mean, you have to be doing something right in order to own several properties as he said in the article. Heck if I had the money to spare, and I had everything else I wanted..sure, why not spend some money on video game currency (maybe not $40,000). Against the rules? Yes. But hopefully he can spread it out in a manner that won't get him caught. :D
 
And also, I've never ever seen a gold farming operation which has anywhere close to that amount in stock, it's mostly no more than 20,000 gold per faction per server. He must be spreading out his purchase.

Also I do play and there is nothing wrong with it....but I was a casual player (2-4 hours) only played 1 toon for 3 years and I had around 400,000g before I quit before the Sunwell patch.

Also there is no limit on gold in WoW that I am aware of. Though I had it split between my 2 accounts and my gfs 2 accounts in case I ever got banned for exploiting in WSG/AB.
