x1600 or x800?

Hi, I'm still looking around at video cards I just want to know if the x1600 is replacing the x800? At the moment I'm interested in either the gecubex800 gto or the Hightech ATI Radeon X1600 Pro IceQ 256MB and I'm not to sure which is better. THe 1600 is cheaper but the reviews about the gecube seem to say that they are being replaced by the 1600's. A little bit of help or advice would be welcome. Just looking to do some video editing and gaming.

Cheers

cheers, my brother has said that just then also. THe x1600 has the better shader thing but I'm not sure if they both have the AVIVO function which seems to be better for video stuff? That's a really good link this is the two here:

It seems as tho the 1600 has more abilities but the gto performs better so really am a bit confused now as to which would be better.

x800 definitely. x800 blows x1600 out of the water. basically, x1600 has less pipelines, less clocks, and less performance. its meant to be a budget card with more memory, not a performance card. get at least 1gb of system memory though you'll need it for high quality. i mean i have 1gb of ram and it bottlenecks my 7800gt. i cant play quake 4 on ultra quality because it tries to run some of it off my harddrive! its crazy..

1600, and OC it,
you will love the card to death because it has such high ceilings, you could overclock it all day long
