x1600PRO (512) or 7600GT (256)

I've done a bunch of reading about the two cards, and looked at a bunch of benchmark tests but I was just wondering in your opinion. Which is the better card? (Not value for money or anything, just which is generally the higher performing card)

I have the X1650 Pro 512mb PCI-E.. I only get a 4500 in 3dMark05. others report a 7XXX but not me.. pfffff. the 7600GT gets atleast 100 at min more than that.. I see alot or reports of 68XX with the 7600GT.. go with the Nvidia. I believe its a better band also.

The 7600GT would be A LOT better, even the 7600GS is a lot better. I've had both, and I can say the x1600PRO is a horrible card.

the speed may be significantly slower but that doesn't make it a horrible card. I know mine deals with high temperatures really well. It's also pretty easy to overclock. I get decent frame rates in games too, so i can't complain. i do admit the 7600 is probably a better deal for your money.

The 256MB version is decently priced, but the 512MB is very overpriced, and theres no more performance over the 256MB version.

I've had many cards, and the x1600PRO is the worst one that i've ever had considering it's price, and the 7600GS is one of the best for the price (back when I had it).

Anyone know where you can get an agp version of the 7600? I have the x1600pro which is on an agp so is there really THAT much difference in performance?

Most likely your best bet would either be the 7600GT or the X1950 Pro, if you feel like putting that much into an AGP graphics card.
