X1800XT 256mb clocks?

I overclocked the clocks on my Sapphire X1800XT 256mb card to 660/750, but when I got into a game they go down to 594 and 693. Why is this? What can I do to fix this? I've got the latest Ati drivers.
 
are you sure your overclock is being applied? i have this same card i haven't attempted to overclock it yet to see if i get the same results tho
 
Do you have Overdrive enabled in the drivers? Cause that could cause the decrease of clock speeds since the temperatures are getting to a certain point at which Overdrive will lower the clock speeds automatically.

Yes, When I go into NR2003(Nascar Racing 2003) the clock speeds go down. I doubt it's because of the card is getting too hot because the GPU temperature is usually 45-55. Should I turn off overdrive?

And Yes, I'm sure the clock speeds are being applied because my screen flickers a little when I press load.
