x1900 power supply

Check your facts. The adaptor does indeed convert two molex connectors to a PCI-E power connector. The fact that both molex connectors on the adaptor are male (i.e. input) should be sufficient evidence of that.

Well, I have the X1800XT, and I'm looking at the external power adapter which comes with it right now. It goes from a 6-pin PCI-Express power connector, to a Molex with 4 pins sticking out of it, and another Molex which recieves 4 pins into it. :)

so.. the connector you have can be putted into a HD or something like that, and the other molex gets the power?

If i just have one molex plugged in the power turns on but the fault light and external power light on the GPU are lit up.

No output is given off to the monitor though (ive tried 2 monitors)

Each of 2 molexs corresponds to 3 of the 6 pins of the pci express connector. I have checked the wires and they all work.

This is the connector in question:

As you can see there are two molex input connections, and one PCI-E output.
Not sure what other cable you're using, but this should be it.

Well, perhaps the X1800XT doesn't require as much power...

Mine is exactly like the one you have shown, except one of the molex's are female.
