X1950 256MB TV Connection Issue

Hello all.

Basically, I'm wanting to hook up my computer to my TV. I have the card stated in the thread title (more information is specified within my signature on that component). However, it seems that in the back of my graphics card the port is designed for a horizontal piece of plastic with a row of four pins below that, and three pins below the four, yet the cable that they provided me with has two pins at the top, four pins in the middle and three at the bottom. Surely they wouldn't provide me with the wrong cable to my graphics card? Does anyone else have a radeon card hooked up to their TV? If so, what cable are you using (pin / plastic horizontal wise)?

I've tried putting the cable into the back of the graphics card and it kind of goes a little in but not all the way and not without some major pressure putting behind it. I daredent put anymore strength into trying to get it in as I'm afraid of damaging the video out port. Anyone got any suggestions?

They wouldn't have a large open horizontal slot on the graphics card socket for two pins would they (going from what I've noticed on both the card port and the cable head).

Any help with this would be most appreciated.

Best regards,

Rove.

the back look like that at all?

I'm guessing you dont hav a VGA port on the back of your tv then?

I've done a quick DIY version of the port in my card and the connector provided in paint. It's as follows:

As you can see there are two pins where there should be, what I guess, is a plastic horizontal piece that I've seen on other connectors. I'm guessing either they provided me with the wrong connector for S-Video or my card only supports HDTV output. But why would they send me both and why does the manual have diagrams showing both being used? I've tried pushing it in (the pin connectors) however it's not going in snug at all and it barely gets a quarter of the way in the port.

Yeah my card only has two DVI outputs. And my TV is only S0-Video input.
