Which card should i go with in my new pc? i'm thinking the X1950XT, but i'm wanting to know your opinions.

No contest if i'm honest. The X1950XT is by far and away the better card. Unless you want DX10 and i still wouldn't get any 8600's, for that bit extra i would be contempt to get the 8800GTS.;)

For DX10 the long wait for the R600 models is in progress since those top the 8800 line of cards. Vista and DX10 will still work on the Radeon X1950XT as well. The difference is that the newer cards will require DX10 not that you can't run Vista and 10 on older model cards. The make of the card is the thing to look at more then the model however. ATI, MSI, BFG, EVGA, and a few others top the list.

PC eye DirectX 10 will not run on a 1950, And DirectX 10 cards do not require Directx 10 to run. Where do you come up with that?

Games that utilize dx10 will also be dx9 compatible, I do not see any games being dx10 only for quite some time.

Vista won't run on an X1950? Where do you get that from? Vista already has DX10 included in it. I currently have DX10 in Vista as well as two versions of XP with DX9 running on the older Radeon X1300 Pro used on the build here. DX10 simply won't run in XP.

You have a hard time reading dont you! Who said vista will (not) run on a X1950 and who said DirectX 10 (will) run on XP? You dont get it do you, your telling me that you think that your X1300 pro is running DirectX 10 just because your running Vista!
Now, I want you to tell me how you think that a X1950 or your X1300 pro can run DirectX 10. Dont tell me some kind of crap that because Vista has DirectX 10 means your card is running in directX 10 because that aint goin to happen. Show my (ANYTHING) that claims that a X1950 or X1300 pro can do DirectX 10 running any OS

The "R600" is out, it's called the HD 2900XT. And those cards are prices at $410-$450, and perform a bit better then the 8800GTS, but not as good as the 8800GTX.

The x1950XT is a great DX9 card, but IMO I would go with a 7950GT. Or if you can spend the extra money, get an 8800GTS 320MB.

i found one for $169, so i think i might hit that up....or i'll step back and get a x1650xt for $99.

i just need something that'll play COD, and COD2......perhaps COD4 if it turns out decent.

The x1650xt isn't crap like the rest of it's ilk so that would work.

You'd have alittle more money for less important things like your girlfriend/wife and rent as well.

I,m glad you do.:P And you think that is anal and baby, what are you like 4? Were not in Kindergarden you can keep the apple at home.

Long term memory problems, maybe? I'm taking into account all the other times, remember them? :P

Let's ALL just be the bigger man and forget it. Come on we can take it.

What are you PC eye under a different name taking up for himself or the Troops lets all get along leader:cool: But I,m done with this its getting alittle stupid!

I was simply defending someone i happen to like. But i agree, stupidity is no way to handle a situation.
