X1950XT to TV problem

On my previous setup i had my X850 hooked up to my Samsung HDtv quite happily so that it cloned what was displayed on my dell monitor.

The idea was that I could play video on media player and set it so that it played full screen on the tv but allowed me to carry on surfing the web on the dell monitor.

However that doesnt seem to want to work with the X1950XT, The connection is using one of the DVI ports on the card with a VGA adaptor and then using the VGA port on the TV.

I can view the desktop on the tv fine, as soon as i ask it to play video the tv attempts to go into full screen for the video and then just says "mode not supported"

I also notice that the colours are a bit off on the TV now too, they were not before.

Any ideas?

You should have component out (HD cable, blue, green, red) on your x1950xt, thought about using that? I do on my x1900xtx and the image is immaculate. If your t.v. does not support the resolutions or has component inputs, adapters are available. Just an alternative I guess.

Also, try this player..

The free one..

I never use anything else now to watch movies on my 37 inch wide screen from my computer.

BTW DVI will not provide the best image, component cables will.. :-)

never fear, all solved in the end, for some reason omega drivers and the latest catalyst drivers dont like it at all

Rolled back to older catalyst drivers and all good. To be fair the image is perfectly crisp, get perfect HD playback on it :)

Cheers for the suggestions though fella :)
