Hey, i just got my x2 3800+. When I put both cores under full load my CPU temp rises to 50C and core rises to 50C as well. Is this normal and safe? I am using the stock cooler btw.

It's safe as long as it's under 65°C, are you using a stock HSF? 50°C isn't bad but it's a tad high for stock voltages.

OK thanks. I have no idea why its at 50C though, I mean, I have 3 80MM fans in my case. I will experiment later as to see why its at 50C. My friend has one and his is at 46C full load.

Its normal, mine does the same thing. I think its too high of a temp, my P4 never reached that temp even with a 1.8v-core. Im looking into getting water cooling for it.....

if it hits 55C i'd say get an aftermarket cooler. as long as you get to 2.4ghz you should be fine though, thats plenty of speed for the average enthusiast lol
2ghz for that proc is good too, mostly since its dual core :)
