x2 vs. Core 2

Hey guys,
I am about to purchase a new laptop and I was trying to find what is better, the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56 (clocked at 1.8GHz) or the Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz. They are both priced about the same on newegg.com and almost the same on dell.com but I don't know a whole lot about them. I was just curious to know if there is much of a difference between the two types of processors or perhaps some advice on what to buy. Thanks in advance.

I heavily doubt it'll be either of those, most likely it's a TXXXX series which is still a very good processor.

Its the T5600, well thats the one I'm looking at. I think that is what I'm gunna go with but just based on the fact that "more expensive is better", and the T5600 Core 2 Duo is more expensive then a Turion X2 TL56, even though they are about the same clock speed. Either way I'm getting at least a gig of RAM and I want something around a x1400 Radeon card. That system *should* be ok for low to mild gaming on a laptop, mostly work related tho.
