X800GTO vs 6600GT

Damn those computer stores, I was just about to go and ask permission from my parents to buy a new video card (GF6600GT 145€) and a new PSU (Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W 74€). But then I saw the CLUB 3D X800 GTO AGP 256MB 256BIT GDDR-3 187€. I immediately thought the Radeon was the way to go but then I thought of the chance that the rest of my system would bottleneck it and the compatibility issues with Linux. So what would you guys recommend?

Just noticed that the X800GTO is a RX version, which has a core clock of 475MHz instead of the usual 400MHz. http://www.club-3d.com/productshow_vga.php?ordercode=CGA-RX86TVD&l=en I didn't know that the X800GTO supports SM3. Here are links to the products:

Wonder why it says so on Club3D's homepage. I guess the X800GTO would be the way to go, I usually play Source based games, FarCry and some games which don't use SM3. It should be able to do HDR in Source and still maintain a good FPS, shouldn't it?
