x850xt vs 7600GT

with a x850xt u should be able to play BF2 on maximum, AA 6x, AF 16x, it scores around 6000 in 3dmark05

ive read numerous complains about fan been loud and that u need a program called ati tools. what does that program do, i know it overclocks its but what does it do to the fan

It is a free overclocking tool. You can adjust the fan speed so that (for example):
greater than XX celcuis, XX% fan speed
There are ten or so boxes you can fill, so you get the whole spectrum. My fan had the opposite problem than the X850XT, it ran at 43% all the time, making the card get really hot. But the X850XT runs too fast, so you can slow it down when it doesn't need the extra cooling.

if i where u i would go with 7600GT because it supports SM3.0 and has a newer technology, while x850 is old an outdated card and it will not be good for newer games, and anyway i don't think that x850xt can beat 7600GT, people here are saying that x850xt just like that, and they haven't saw any benchmarks that compares x850xt with 7600GT.

And also don't forget that evga 7600GT that u have posted is an overclocked one (580/1500), and in benchmarks they don't test an overclocked 7600gt.

7600GT is better in my opinion.

video cards is not measured by memory interface
look at 6800GS it is has 256bit memory interface and it doesn't beat 7600GT.

also 6600GT is 128bit and has half the memory bandwidth of fx5950ultra but it outperforms it.
