Xbox 360 Connectivity

This has been bugging me for a while now. BT is my ISP and theyre supposed to 'fully support gaming devices.' But My xbox NAT is always set to strict. Ive tried resetting to defaults. Port forwarding. Optimal Setup (A video i saw on youtube for opening the NAT) At one point I did have it open, but a few days later it was back to strict. Does anyone know a surefire way to get and keep it open? :D
thanks

what router do you have? is it a bt supplied one?
did you make any changes to the router during the few days it was working?

Yes it is the supplied one. Its the older version, white one. No i didnt touch it during those few days

Sorry i cant get the enlarged picture but its the 3rd one on the left column. Upnp is enabled, and not with the dmz, it seems a bit risky going into there, it says:

This page allows you to assign the public IP address of your Internet connection to a specific device on your local network.

You can use this feature for troubleshooting a device or application, but in most cases you should instead use the configuration on the Game & Application Sharing page.

When using this feature, you should understand the serious impact on your Hub and network's performance and therefore only use it as a temporary measure:

* The BT Broadband Talk service will stop working.
* Your Hub will no longer receive automatic remote upgrades.
* The device assigned to the internet service will no longer be protected by the Hub's firewall.
* Any Dynamic DNS service you might have setup will stop working.
* The BT FON Wi-Fi Community service on your Hub will stop working.

You mean this one? Kinda crazy looking...wish mine looked like that :P

nah he means that one:

Which does look good, but not quite as good as the black one, which reminds me of the belkin n1 vision, but ofcourse, the belkin has no phone:

You can try putting dmz on and seeing if it works. If not, you can always put it back, but I can't think of anything else to be honest seeing as how it is connected and UPnP is on

if you access the routers home page it should say somewhere ' firmware version'
there may even be an option for it somewhere, when you find it there should be an option to upgrade.
(sorry i can be more specific i havent got this router, but it is usually very easy to find)
there is only a small chance this is the problem as bt are meant to update the firmware automatically, but ya know it is BT lol

2 side notes, if you have a second Xbox 360 in the house, if it routes a IP before yours, it will occupy the ports that Live needs. I have a little brother with XBL also, even tho my 360 is DMZ'd, Port forwarded, if he routes his IP first I will get the "Strict" NAT type, until I reset the router and turn my 360 on first I will remain strict. Other note, DMZ your 360, DMZing is unsafe for PCs, however for console gaming it can mean the answer to a lot of hassles. Google DMZ, and whatever kinda of router you have.
