hey members. if anyone have the core system with the wire control n stuff.

well, i got one for my birthday yesterday. i never opened it or anything because i wasn\'t sure about a few things. no, don\'t tell me to go get the premium because i wont either. anyways, i know that i need a memory card to save games. i dont need the hdd or the live or the wireless stuff. i like the core console.

now, my question is that am i missing a lot of the good stuff not having a hd capable tv? I have a regular tv with the red, yellow, white plugs. i dont have plans or plan to buy hd in the future. or, will i see the same results such as the graphics and all.

also, can anyone or if anyone know or can take a picture of a regular tv compare to a hd tv for comparison for me? i would like to see the difference, same game if possible. thank you all.

You'll be fine with the AV hookups but you are missing some of the greatness of having that console. You can always hook it up to your computer monitor, you could even purchase another monitor. That would be better then a TV with AV inputs... Just a thought.

is that an option? i have a regular crt monitor only. the regular monitor plug, does that work? or maybe a laptop screen? not sure.

but, does anyone have any side by side pictures of hd tv vs a regular tv?

also, i hope you guys can help me answer these question because that\'s the reason i didn\'t open it. either keep the core, or return it if i am not getting what i am supposed to without hd and all that good stuff.

a Normal tv will work just fine :) Ofcourse the picture could be better... But why bother if you like the picture you see on a normal tv alread? :o
maybe go to a local electronic's store or gameshop ( you know, the kind of shop that usually has a console setup standing there already) and see if you like it that way.. those setups usually use a normal tv,.. so if you like the picture of those,.. you'll be fine at home too :)

I believe so yes. When you hook up your 360 to a computer monitor it will give you a choice of a few resolutions and it will look just great. Your CRT would be perfect (imo). I saw a demonstration of this somewhere before. I'll go google and see if I cannot find it again.

I have read where there were some issues... Condemned being one, which happens to be mentioned in that article. I say, if you spend all that money on one of these current gen consoles then to purchase a PC monitor to play them on would be the cheapest solution. But heck.... why would you want to play your Xbox360 on a regular tv? I used to play my NES on one :P.

Well... i also played the SNES, N64, gamecube and xbow on a regular tv.. also no problem.. ;)

Well I'm not trying to say there would be any real problems. I'm trying to say (imo) that it is a real waste to purchase consoles that display high resolutions on a regular tv. It is just my personal opinion which I'm sure both our opinions are shared by many. All those consoles you mention do not take advantage of the very high resolutions you'll find on an HDTV or PC monitor anyway :P.

I'll tell you this much, I bought my gamecube about 6 months ago with Zelda (windwaker). I played first quarter on a regular tv with av jacks, I then hooked it up to my HDTV through S-video and it looked 10x better. Now I know The HDTV has nothing to do with that (because GC is not HDTV compatible) but the colors were so much more vibrant and the detail was better as well.

I cant really agree with that tbh.. we have a normal tv here at home wich uses AV-jacks.. and honestly i like the colours of it better than my pc monitor. ah well.. i gues there are differences and exceptions everywhere i gues.

Well, you will not get the most of what the 360 is. It was really meant for hd television and what not. Putting it onto an LCD monitor would be great! You just need to get the extension cord to vga. Now, if you would like it on your Laptop, you can too. You will need something like the Adaptec GameBridge adapter (imo, the best right now even though it is discontinued already). It has virtually no lag. I play my ps2 on it all the time and it works flawlessly. The only downside is that it connects via coaxial plugs, not vga, so the quality is still normal tv quality.
