Alright, I decided to start fresh, since I'm taking a new approach on this.

I've decided to buy mod parts from a site, instead of doing my own thing.

Here's what I'm thinking..

Diamond Clear-

With matching HDD casing-

---

Ruby Red-

And I can't find a matching HDD casing, so it'll stay stock.

---

Now, I was looking into replacing the current fans inside the box, I was wondering if I would run into any problems..

(Available in Blue, Green, and Red.)

---

And I'm also looking into replacing the DVD casing-

---

Or I can keep it in it's stock case, and adding fans inside, like this.

Not my pic.^

Any feedback?

keep in mind that microsoft used two different manufacturers of dvd drives. so make sure that one is compatible with yours. also, avoid the whisper MAX or whatever it is. it may be a 12 volt exhaust fan, but the wires for the "nitro" button suck ass, and mine broke. just stick with that whisper and you should be fine. heres a link to my xbox: http://www.chrisdubiel.com/images/3601.JPG

Hm, alright. I'm familiar with modding, I've modded my first 360, and I picked up another one to mod.

That one I actually replaced the thermal paste, used actual computer cathodes, painted it, and added a side panel.

And I already made sure the DVD casing was compatible with my drive.

Yeah your first one was mint! Nice to see you're keeping up with the modding scene.

yea my friends told me after i posted that that you knew what you were doing. still, i would stay away from the whisper max shit. and get a fan shroud :)

edit: btw where did you get the rubber gasket thing for around the window?

Thanks, man!

Heh, yeah.

The window trim is trimming for cars, I got it from an auto shop, lol.

I would leave it in the case and put the LED fans on the back, they look awesome! And maybe another window? UV stuff inside...

Yeah, I thought about that.. Don't really have much of a case mod choice, unless I do it myself. I wanted to find a place to get laser etchings on a piece of plexi for the window, but can't find anything..

I'll plan on getting the replacement exhaust fans, whether it be blue or green, then go from there.

my 360 died today 1 red light because the graphics chip failed, out of warranty and not repairable
sucks to be me :P

might be selling for spares and repair, pobly not much use to you thought since your in the states

OK, I had a near RRoD experience earlier, I was experiencing freezing, then got three rings, but I let it sit for a bit, and now it's working.

So instead of waiting until it happens again, and instead of risking it actually RRoDing, I'm just going to add a better fan, before I actually do any other mods.

So here's what I'm going to order later,
http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=73_89&products_id=715

And I'm probably going to pick up a tube of AS5 and reapply better thermal paste.

I'll probably play, if I feel up for it, I usually don't let situations like this take control, I'm confident that I can prevent/fix a problem with it, so.

UV reactive or white paint on the inside and then put a couple UV cold cathodes in. That would look sick, and if you really want a project you could try watercooling it. I've seen it done, but I have no idea how.

Yeah, I thought about water cooling it, I'll look into it.. I planned on doing another mod to this 360, since I already modded my other one, but since I had a near RRoD experience, I'm going to work on the cooling first.

I purchased the exhaust fan.
