Hey everyone. Bad news. i just got an Xbox and my:mad: retarded ass decides to turn the 360 from horizontal to vertical while the game loads and it makes a load grinding type noise. I turn it off and turn it back on. The game loads to a certain point and the cd drive starts to make a clicking noise and then it says "unable to read disc." Please try again. So I do and same problem. Is the 360 screwed or the game or me? Please help.:(

There is a slight right around the outer disk. Plus how can i check to make sure its not the drive? I dont have any other games except that ones o will a dvd work or somethin?

ok, thank god its only the cd that got messed up. I popped another dvd in and it works fine for now. I have to think twice before doing something retarded like that again. :(

Yeah, that happened to one of my 360s. Simple DVD swap should fix it. You'll probably need to replace the PCB from that drive, and put it in the new one, and maybe some other stuff to make sure the drive gets recognized.

Yeah that's been a problem since day one, when I first got a 360 there were several warning stickers saying never move the console when a disk is playing. Naturally I ignored it and wrecked one of my games by doing the same thing. Oh well, live and learn.

Yes, that is very true. I know now that I should never do it again.

@gamerof1337: nothings broken , thank God, its just the disk that was scratched up a bit.

Alright. I remember my 360 making that grinding noise, without being touched. I think it was vertical, which was probably the problem. That was around the time I started laying it horizontally.
