So...on our base in Afghanistan there is a huge Xbox LAN network set up. It has about 60 people total and we have started playing LAN games. :D

The last game console I bought for my self was a Playstation 1 about 14 years ago...Kinda rusty at console knowledge. :o

I ordered an Xbox 360, HDMI cable and an Asus monitor. I bought it beforew consulting with the experts aqgainst my better judgement. Can somebody confirm or deny if the monitor will be good for playing Xbox?

should be alright, but most if not all 360 and ps3 games are 720p, or upscaled to 720p from something lower. good to see ya :)

same monitor i have, basically only for use with my 360 works awesome the only complaint i have is i wish it had a remote to control the volume so i didnt have to scramble through the settings. when i first got it i had a problem with hdmi the monitor only supports 1.3b i think it is, i was trying to use an ms hdmi cable that apparently wasnt 1.3b and the monitor would not work got a new cable and it works awesome

I did order an HDMI cable...it was a $14 cheap one that is 3 foot long. I will have to do some research on the correct cable.

where did u order a cable for 14 dollars, i get mine from mono, cost like 6.50 shipped to my door for a 6 foot, but im sure the one you ordered will be fine. i think your gunna like it alot

Thanks for the input...actually a couple friends ordered cables. I bought an Avol 6.5ft gold plated HDMI cable. It says 1.3 just like you said.

I am sure it will be nice once it all gets set-up.

Thanks for everything!

If you have HDMI on your monitor, then there's no question that it'll work. I mean, why else do you think HDMI is there :P Now if you didn't have HDMI, you could have used an HDMI to DVI converter and connected it to your monitor. Basically any monitor with DVI can accept HDMI (and vice versa)
