hey everyone i got a hd tv with hdmi slot and xbox 360 elite i try to use the hdmi wire but nothing displays on the hdmi channel i got a standard component cable non hd 1 i try to change the settings from 50hz to 60hz but the screen goes fuzzy grey anyone help?

Well, I believe most TV's would support the same setting through HDMI that they would through component. It might be something faulty with the HDMI port on either the Xbox or the TV, or it might for some reason only support certain setting through HDMI so I would try changing the resolutions (480i, 1080p, etc).

don't fiddle around with the refresh rate, leave it at 60hz and as pohtaytoez said try changing the resolution, it may be that the elite can't handle full HD im not sure

Maybe a dumb question but have you tried connecting your Xbox to another TV via HDMI?

Just thinking it could maybe be a problem with the HDMI port on your console,Or mabe on the TV....Have you tried another HDMI cable?

I have a 360 pro connected to my 22" 60Hz via HDMI and works fine.

maybe the elite works differently to pro, since the pro comes with hdmi standard but the elite is just a modified 360
