hello all!

ok so for some reason my xbox controller isn't working properly. i turn my 360 on and then my controller and try to connect but it wont for some odd reason. I have to have the charger plugged in or else the controller won't turn on. Its jus not connecting??? both the xbox and controller seem to be powering on jus not connecting with one another...any suggestions?

thanks a mill!:D

You sace that you have to have your contoller connected to the USB in order for the controller to work? Are the batteries good? If your using a charger pack then it may be broken

My roomate has a controller that wont connect to his XBOX unless he hooks it up the the xbox via USB. Some times it may find my XBOX but we usually have to use the USB also. How many times have you slammed/dropped it??

Also, if your a button masher your controllers wont last for ever.

my controller is about 3-4 years old..its been dropped occasionally...ya im using a usb charger, which is directly connected to the 360...when i connect it to the charger it the controller turns on but the charger light doesnt come on liek normal.....

Im taking it you dont have a seperate wall charger for your charger pack? It sounds like it is broken. You can actually use the controller with no kind of battery pack what so ever, as long as it is connected to the XBox it will receive power. This may be why your controller is cutting on but isnt charging the pack.

I dont know how well you are acquainted with the workers at your nearest gamestop/gamecrazy, but you could always see if they are willing to put your battery pack in a wall charger station ( they should have one out hopefully ) to see if its broken or not.

Help this helps...

i have had this problem with the battery pack before now and i have found the plugging the usb charger in to my pc can recharge a battery the wont charge from the xbox you could try that

it isn't necessarily the battery pack.

Have you tried turning on the console, pressing the xbox button on the control and as the lights flash hit the little white connect button on the back to try and connect it to the console again?

Sometimes the xbox controllers or other controllers (instruments for example) get disconnected from the console and pressing that button usually sorts it

ya it wasn't the battery pack...it ended up being the charger for the battery pack...problem solved! :)

It sounds like the time your going to spend fixing your old controller you could just buy and new one a be done with it.
