im going to try to hook up a bigger harddrive to an Xbox im getting... how would i do it? ghost the old harddrive to the new one?
 
I suggest first u backup u'r xbox files to u'r pc. Format u'r new hard drive, lock the new harddrive & ftp u'r previous files of xbox to the new one.I think u can't ghost the old harddrive to the new one unless the old harddrive is unlocked.
 
there is a program called xbox hard drive maker, look it up on google. Thats what I used to upgrade one of my xbox's HDD's to an 80GB.

Well, each hard drive is locked to your mobo on the xbox. Any old hard drive will not work with xbox stock dashboard. To upgrade your hard drive you are going to have to mod your xbox, and load a dashboard like slayor etc.
Once you do this, you can save games onto your hard drive, but you cant play on xbox live.

What you would lke requires you to buy a mod chip...$50-90, depending on which you get. Some decent sodering skills (screw up, and your XBOX is useless), and any sized HD. After all hardware is completed, you need something like AVALAUNCH as your dashboard, flash your bios, and your set. Xbox-Scene.com has some good tuts. But also, which ever Modchip you purchase, 99% of the time, their site has a COMPLETE tutorial on how to apply the chip (even a different tut for each version of the XBOX).
