xbox360+lcd monitor distorting image? HELP

i just bought a samsung syncmaster 225BW and i bought the vga HD cablesfor my xbox360, and well i am having a problem, everything is "streched" my circles are ovals, cars on pgr3 are are to tall and sort, whats the dealio? i am running are 1350-768 I THINK? anybody have the same problem? screen is a 22 inch
also will dvi look better then vga HD
 
Yeah mine has the option of Widescreen, full screen, cinema, and one more which I cant think of the name.

I usually play games in the Cinema mode, which makes them the correct resoltion, but cuts a little bit of the game off. That or full screen which stretches it out a bit.
