Xfire 3870s

I already have 2 HD3870s, got them a while ago, so I was wondering if I needed 1 or 2 Xfire pins to set it up in xfire? Just want to double check before I get another pin (1 card didnt come with one).

Would I be better off just buying a single 4830 or 4850 over this solution?

you only need one ribbon to run basic crossfire, but you need both ribbons to support three or four cards. i think your performance is going to be fine with the two 3870's, dont buy a new video card until your ready to buy a 4870 1gb or a GTX260 core 216.
