XFX 8800GT Crashing problem

Hey Ive got a XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog XXX video card on an EVGA 680i LT mobo and it seems whenever i start playing a game about 2 or 3 minutes in it just freezes up, ive been playing the computer almost a week and its been alright. I think I read about other people having problems like this with this card and I think they just throttled the clock down from 670 but I could be wrong

I heard about these problems and most of the time the problem seems to have been solved by throttling it back to 600 and increasing the fan by 50%

oh i fixed the problem using riva tuner i just cranked up the fan and it works fine now thanks for the help tho

i suggest you make sure you have an adequete psu, as low power will often result in overheating, and although you have removed one symptom (ie the heat), if your psu goes, it could take the card, mobo and memory with it. word of warning thats all.

I shouldnt have any problems with the PSU as I have an ULTRA 750W and so far it's done its job beautifully

According to this, your PSU has incredible ripple. NOt sure its a quality psu, just watch it ok.

hey me again haha my video cards starting to crash again usually after 10-15 minutes of playing, it doesnt seem to matter what game it is either even older games crash. Im wondering if there's anyone else out there with one of these cards and what theyve underclocked it to?
