Ok...I just made a new account for myself so others who used the computer could use the "Administrator" account and i could have my own. Somehow the other account got deleted or something because it doesn't show up at the sign in screen. I tried to make another acoount named "Administrator" but it said there was already an account w/ that name...so it muct not have been deleted...there was some valuable information on that account so how do i get it back?

Ummm, this post somewhat confuses me. Explain this, you created a seperate account not called "Adminstrator" correct? After this the account was deleted correct?. Then you tried to create a new account called "Administrator" correct? if all this is correct, the reason you cannot create this account is because like it said "Administrator" account is already in use. Try creating a new one, as for the files. I'm sure someone has a handy tool to get them back

ok...well I didn't see the use for my seperate account anymore so i tried to rename it as "administrator" and it said that there was already an account named "administrator"....so basically im just trying to find it somewhere and recover it's much need files...but yeah i think you got most of it

go into mycomputer>yourharddrive>DocumentsandSettings>... and see if your "Administrator" account is there. If it is, all your needed files will be in there.

When you only have one account then you automatically get "Administrator". As soon as you have more than one, the second one has to be different (common sense). Now if you go through the least amount of work to get functionality for both accounts, change the login type from the prissy-pretty login screen to the classic login screen (i.e. users type their username in)

there was some valuable information on that account so how do i get it back?
Again, see the above. Also, you can access the data realy easy from Safe Mode (press F8 during boot). Or simply going to Documents and Settings folder and the Administrator folder from there. If you dont see it you'll have to disable the security settings in windows (Tools --> OPtions)
