xp and 7 compatible network

hi. i have a small network setup with 3 windows xp computers conected to it but the switch is broken. planning to buy a new one and wanted to know if my 2 windows 7 computers will be able to connect and if so will it be hard to setup due to it been a different os

Sometimes networking 7 and XP can be a pain. Usually if you setup the same workgroup on every computer and share the drives/folders/files/printers then your set to go. But of course you'll have to get a new switch first.
 
Just make sure you setup a WORKGROUP on the Win 7 computers as XP can only see WORKGROUPs. Win 7 introduced a new group called a HOMEGROUP which only computers running Win 7 (& Win 8) can join.
