Heya every1, well my XP Boot Issues has been Going on for 5 days straight now,
and I have no idea now of what to do to fix it, i have linux(ubuntu) working on my secondary HD, it had no problems installing never did, but Windows XP wont boot on my main HD or other HD even when I did install from CD when it made it to setup part it gave that horrible blue screen we are all so aware of, not sure if u need the exact information written i can come back and post it later,

what I would like to know is how do I fix the problem some ppl have aid it was my MBR or my Boot record is wiped... if thats the case how can i fix it?

also I will come back and post what the error message is to help out better even the little numbers at the bottom must mean something...

are you dual booting ?
the blue screen has nothing to do with MBR, get the exact error code and post it !!

k I'll be rebooting in a few moment to get the code, also says something about running chkdsk /f or theres a virus or disconnect hard drives and hard drive controllers, however I really don't know what hard drive controllers are unless there the SATA ports, or the cords, and yes i do have 2 hard drives, before all this happened i was able to dual boot, with no problems, i am running Ubuntu (only OS right now that works) on the secondary HD while i still have XP running on my main drive the one that came with PC... k, I also noticed that when I remove the secondary HD the one that has the Linux OS (Ubuntu) GRUB still loads, would that be the problem?
And thanks for the help hope this much helps get some more info again later.

k looked at link, but I guess I should be looking for a way to get rid of GRUB, well did get the error code I got from the 'STOP" screen I don't know if any1 can tell me where it refers to... here it is it only changes when I boot from cd but from hd it says this:

STOP: 0x000000FB (0xF896A640, 0x00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

thats the error code, also theres no way I know of getting into chkdsk /f as I got no OS now, but still the probs with trying to install windows, I should find a way to remove the GRUB file? or buy a new cheap motherboard for now? mobo would fix problem right? even if i bought an identical one...
