XP doesnt find Harddrive

You do have it plugged into the end of the IDE cable and not the middle of the cable, correct? I realize these are simple things but this seems to be a simple problem, something is being overlooked.

it's an SATA drive so there is only 2 plugs on the connector, and there are no jumpers. with a high overclock the SATA controllers might be flaking out

Yeah its in the right place......i was so desperate that i even checked if i had a HDD in the Case at all.... :p just kidding...but i really have NO idea what is going on

oi ... some mobos like the K8N Neo2 Plat have some SATA controllers that are 'locked' and some of them arent
