XP Games

Is there any website where I can download the normal games that come with WinXP?(e.g. internet backgammon, hearts, solataire, etc) When I did a repair installation, they seem to have disappeared. :(

They are not there. Pinball was the only game that I could find on the internet to download.

Actually, I also lost the volume control. On my keyboard, I have volume control buttons, which still work, but the actual volume control menu is not there.

OK, I was able to copy the standard games (hearts, minesweeper, freecell, solataire, spider) and the volume control from my laptop. But I don't know where the internet games are. I know that I could go to MSN gaming zone, but I don't like that. I like to play them off my computer, not on the internet.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\Windows

Thats the folder for the internet games. Give me a few minutes, ill get you the file names

shvlzm.exe - Internet Spades
Rvsezm.exe - Internet Reversi
hrtzzm.exe - Internet Hearts
chkrzm.exe - Internet Checkers
bckgzm.exe - Internet Backgammon

Although 1 or 2 of those might be from Microsoft Plus! because i dont remember them from the original windows installation.

What program opens *.rar files? I thought Winzip did, but it doesn't

edit: never mind, I got Winrar

But when I try to run the executable, it says that it is unable to start, and to try uninstalling/reinstalling using add or remove programs. Any suggestions?

Put in your xp cd and go to add/remove programs. On the side, click Add/Remove Windows Components. Double click accessories and utilities > games. Now if the games are unchecked, check them, then click okay > okay > next. If they are already checked, then uncheck them okay > okay > next, and run through the process again, only this time cheking the boxes.
