XP Home PC Can't Join XP Pro Workgroup

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a home network but can't get my XP Home to connect to my XP Pro workgroup. I keep getting the error message "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the Admin..... blah blah".

Any ideas why I can't join the workgroup? I tried to search Windows help for things such as permissions but it's totally useless. I ran the network setup wizard but no use. Also, I'm sure the workgroup name is spelled correctly on both machines.

Any help appreciated.

Ron

Problem Solved

No, it was the workgroup it couldn't join. for future reference- the problem was having the free v. of Zonealarm loaded. It doesn't allow modifying the network setting. I uninstalled Zonealarm on both computers, setup Window firewall to accept file sharing and it works great.

Hope this helps soemeone in the future.

Zone Alarm in the biggest POS ever. I have seen more issues with that piece of software then any other.
