I installed it and I gotta say my boot times SUCK with SP3 about 50% longer then it use to be on SP2.
I can even start watching a movie at boot up and 1 min later all my programs/icons will finally decide to boot up. I think they aimed to make it worse then Vista to improve sales LOL
Actually mate since I made this post I found a GREAT way to solve my problems.
Little program called Bootvis my PC is booting up like it use to now. Though I think I found a UAC disable for Ultimate x64 option so going to partition 30gbs on my HD and see if it will work. I like vista but the fact I gotta hit "F8" each time I boot the PC up to disable the UAC is annoying. I am grumpy when I wake up and vista doesn't help me ^-^
Its well known that SP3 has issues with AMD CPUs, cohen. I think a hotifx is available though.
the bug wasnt discovered until after SP3 came out, so i think if you apply the SP then check fthe windows updates website(choose custom) a fix should be there?
not too sure though
why dont you just disable UAC permanently?
The problem was, AFAIK, fixed long ago and only affected certain prebuilt machines. I have a Presario with Sempron CPU, SP3 installed and it's running fine. Its well known that SP3 has issues with AMD CPUs, cohen. I think a hotifx is available though.
