I am trying to reinstall XP on my Fujistu Scaleo and it goes through the auto install process and then hangs on the Windows set up screen (loading system files) with "iasStor.sys could not be found". The "Press any key" does not work and I have to shutdown. On reboot it does the same.
I do get the F6 option to load RAID drivers but the F6 key does not respond.
HELP PLEASE !
Note : I am using the SP2 recovery CD but it doesn't appear to be reading from this as I get the same problem, with and witthout the CD in the drive.

Is this a slipstreamed raid/ahci install cd? Because iastor drivers aren't on a standard windows XP install cd. You must use a floppy drive to install this driver if it isn't slipstreamed into a new install cd. If you have slipstreamed it, then most likely it was done wrong.

Whoa - sorry but over my head. This is the standard OEM disc. How would this work when I do not get the option to install drivers as the F6 function is not working ?

Are you booting to the install cd or running the install from within windows? You can't do a fresh install while inside of windows. The F6 button won't actually give you a prompt until about halfway through installing drivers and then it asks you to specify a device driver.

I was trying a fresh install. As its trying to run the set up automatically from switch on, the only options I have are the F2 bios and F12 boot sequence. I don't have the option to use F6.

You only get the f6 option after you start the install. Look in the bios to see if you can change the sata controller setting to Native IDE/IDE/compatibility mode. Doing that should stop you from having to install the sata controller driver.

Then you have a problem with your setup. Without looking at the machine myself, I wouldn't know where to tell you to start looking.

By chance this wouldn't be a burned CD would it? Or did you get it when you got the computer from the manufacturer?
