Xp - internet help!

Hi, I bought a cheap computer, an old dell dimension. It has a fresh install of XP, im not too techy but not completely bad on computers.

I want to connect to the internet via a wireless adapter, I have a wireless router which I have used/setup computers on before, but have no clue on XP.

Can anyone offer any help on how to connect to the internet on XP.

Does the desktop have a wireless adapter installed?
if not then you will need to attach a PCI wireless adapter to it.

Then you will need to install drivers and there will be a button on the taskbar to attach to the roughter and in turn the internet.
 
Ah right, I dont think it has a PCI wireless adapter, i'll pick a cheap one up off ebay and put that in and install.

Anther option would be a USB wireless adapter although the PCI would be better for a desktop. How far are you from the router? If close enough, it would be pretty easy to simply connect to the router with a cable. Does the computer have a ethernet port?
