XP is not DLing anythiawdadawaaaaadawd

I ask this knowing likely no one will have any sort of answer for me buut....

Recently my computer has been unable to DL things, specifically programs. I get a read only error on my drive. Weird thing is, pictures DL fine. I cannot in any way figure out how to fix this. Anywhere you'd suggest I start?

If the read/write heads are going on the drive you can look at things but do just about nothing else like download or simply create a new folder. You may want to start backing things up in the event the drive is on the way out.
