xp log on help

right i have never set up a logon or password to get into windows xp before and today when i turn on the laptop it asks for a user and password so i type my name in and enter and windows starts up well the noise it makes little box pops up and says loading setting,with in about 3 seconds you hear the windows shuting down music and it pops up saving settings.

i do not have a windows xp disk to reinstall

anyone help with this issue need the laptop so need it sorted a.s.a.p :)
 
At the bootscreen, press F8, which will bring up a selection screen, try both booting in Last Known Good Configuration, or boot into safe mode. My first suggestion (first know good config) is the most likely to work. Once into windows, if this works, try using system restore to put the computers setting back to a date before the problem arised.

Try to enter in Safe Mode (with F8 key) and in computer managment add new user... Log in with new user name...

(Tip: with msconfig tool check all your startup programs)

*(try brinkys idea first)
 
ARE YOU ON WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL? IF YES FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS

TURN ON THE COMPUTER
ALT CTRL DEL (DO THIS TWICE)
USERNAME: Administrator
Password: Leave Blank

Click OK

WHEN COMPUTER COMES ON

START / CONTROL PANEL / USER ACCOUNTS /

create new account called: newuser1
account type : computer administrator

Click OK

START/ RUN / CONTROL USERPASSWORDS / UNSELECT USERS MUST TYPE A USERNAME PASSWORD TO USE THIS COMPUTER

CLICK OK

THEN AS THE USERNAME PUT : newuser1

THEN LEAVE THE PASSWORD BLANK

CLICK OK

RESTART COMPUTER
AND IT WILL AUTOMATICLY COME ON

all wrong

you need to press F8 crazy at staart up. select safe mode.

username: administrator
password: -blank-

Delete your user account and add a new one
 
It looks like you are going to have to do a re-install of windows, or at least put the computer back to factory settings.

If you can advise on the following;

-Make of laptop
-Model of laptop
-Operatings System and Service Pack
-Any error messages that you experience

myself, or others may be able to help you sort the problem.

Did you try any of our solution? Did you ever entered in Safe Mode?

Yes? Then maybe you have a problem with your laptop battery or power supply…
 
yea tried them all

have tried with a new battery and still no good

i does not shut the laptop down it just goes back to the log in box anyway
