XP Mce upgrade disk

i installed my mce os, and it came with an upgrade cd, i pop it in it says i need.
.NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1.

I ve looked and downloaded off of micosoft and no help with a successful download.


what do i do?

i downloaded that and other types that may have worked, but i downloaded them and there saying things like, already installed, can not install due to not having this other software.

what exactly are you trying to install here? I am confused, if its an application that requires something like DX or .NET 9 times out of 10 they include it in the installer.

If you have a physical MCE upgrade disk, did you know there is no phsyical difference in an upgrade disk or a full version? The only difference is that the upgrade will prompt you to insert a previous version during the installation process. Those .NET installs should be bundled and if they are not, windows update should download them.

I downloaded all the .NET on my XP Pro box and have had no problems.

Is this a clean install of windows or is it an existing one?

I am trying to get WMP but its saying can not install, then i remembered i needed to install the mirror disk shiny one that came with called like upgrades for mce

well what disk is it? Like an MS disk or a disk from the computer vendor?

Are you open to other media players? I only use one media player now pretty much on my macs, my windows boxes and my linux boxes

I highly recomend this because it plays just about every freaking format with no codecs needed, and well its open source so you would be supporting the open source community.

What does windows update tell you? It should find the .Net frameworks
