So Im gonna be building a new machine, Im gonna be using the same hard drive though.. does that mean I have to reinstall windows?

you can even use the same xp format, sometimes it will let you, and all you have to do is delete old drivers and re-install new ones, if not, id recommend reformatting and re-installing just to start fresh.

If you uninstall all the drivers of your old board before you swap theres a chance it might boot up and install generic windows drivers then you can install your new board drivers. If not you can just do a repair install. Its best to do a (Clean Install) though.

How do i uninstall those drivers? do i delete all the nvidia drivers? because i have the nforce350
or do i just delete the folder files in the hard drive?

Before you swap the drive go into your ADD and Remove programs and uninstall any drivers that are listed Chipset- Video- sound and so on. Then you can go into your device manager and uninstall your USB- firewire- IDE controllers-Sata controllers. anything thats related to the board that its installed on now. But like I said a Clean Install is allways better.

You may find that once youve built your system and tried to re-install/activate xp that it wont let you because of the hardware changes that youve made(making it think its been pirated onto another pc) if this happens fone up microsoft and tell them you need a new key because youre psu blew your m/b and that all youve done is to upgrade
