So WHat Would Be Best Xp or Vista

It depends on if you need/want DirectX 10 support or not. If so, you would need to run under Vista. Keep in mind that you will most likely see a performance hit under Vista in DX10 as well.

to be more specific, depending on the games you want to play, you may or may not have computability issues with vista. on the other hand, many new games use dx10, and xp hasnt supported it yet.

i've done some gaming in windows 7 with some dx10 titles. to me, playing at 1680x1050 res, on a 22" monitor, with a hd4870, there is not much difference in picture quality; not when you're trying to concentrate on the action, anyway.
if, you try to make a point with Crysis, yeah, it looks nice in very high, but is it playable?
i wouldn't go with vista based on dx10 support only.
all my games run and look awesome in windows xp :)

not ever?

Why would they support it for a old OS? This way they can force you to upgrade to Vista/Win 7 if you want the new version :)

Its smart when you think about it but also pretty crappy when they sell a OS for 400 bucks when you don't even use 80% of the crap that comes with it.

I think Xp is the best,But if your a keen gamer then you will want to go with Vista or even better wait out for Windows 7 X64 for DX10 and maybe DX11 whenever it will be released for Windows 7.

DX10 has been out for quite a while now though and game developers realy have not used it much.

still alot of newer games are DX9 only.

Vista, no question. DX9 is the last DX XP will ever have (as you should know by now), With Vista you get DX10 and DX11 when it comes out, and whatever others are coming out. Let's face it, while XP is good and whatnot, it's getting old and wrinkly and if your hardware can run Vista, there's really no point in going XP.

vista will also support all 4 gigs of ram if you go with 64 bit 32 bit home premium still recognizes 3327 mb of my 4 gigs
