XP-OS issue/missing files

I seem to be having an issue with my computer. At first it was stuck in a "restart loop" (when loading a very brief blue screen of death showed, followed by an-auto-restart). I have gotten around that issue, by using the Compaq Partition Recovery console, and can now load my computer, but I have problems access all my old files. I know they are their (the C:\ drive has 70GB used, 30GB free) but I can't find where the files when (mostly music files). I thought at first it was a virus, but after looking through "CCleaner" and "HiJackThis" I can't seem to find any source of viruses. I've run chkdsk through the command prompt, as well as the startup chkdsk. As a pre-emptive, I've added the HiJackThis log file, and I'm hoping that will help speed this along. I have access to the internet on the infected computer, and can download addition software if need be. Thank you for your help.

I thought at first it was a virus, but after looking through "CCleaner" and "HiJackThis" I can't seem to find any source of viruses.

First of all, CCleaner is not an anti-virus/malware program. Grab Malwarebytes, and give that a go.

Second, I recently had a similar issue and it turned out to be a dying hard drive. You may want to grab a utility to do a full disk scan for bad sectors. Further evidenced by the fact that you are having a hard time accessing some files suggests that this is most likely the case.

You are running a very old version of Java. Please uninstall any and all old versions, which may be labeled as Java or J2SE runtime. Then go here and install the newest version which is version 6 update 13

Couple more questions

Is there a utility that I can get for free to run the scan on the hard-drive, which one would you recommend (if there isn't one that's free, what's a good one to buy)? If it turns out to be a dieing hard drive, is there anyway to save those files?

Look on the hard drive to see who the maker is and download their drive diagnostic utulity and run it. It will tell you the health of the drive.
