I am in the process of upgrading my office network and am rather unsure on what OS to go with. Can someone please advise to which OS I should go for and what version? Thank you.

Windows 7 Professional. More features, better security than XP

It has XP mode too, for compatibility with older programs, just in case they don't work with Win7 (which they should)
If your machines have more than 4GB of RAM, then go with the 64bit Version

If you are going to use it for the Office, I would go with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Professional is good, but Ultimate has better Security and networking.

For your requirements id say Windows 7 Professional like Fastdude mentioned.

Xp is good,But its outdated and best to move on :)

thats the only reason for upgrading to windows 7 pro 64. XP maybe or will expire soon. dont remember when. do it now or do it later.

You have to download XP Mode separately from the M$ website. It's free though.
And to clarify things, if you have more than 4 GB RAM, you won't be able to use it unless you get the 64-bit version. That amount of RAM isn't required to run it, I'm running Win7 Ultimate x64 on a machine with 2.5 GB RAM, and have run it on a machine with 1.5.
