XP Pro Remote Desktop web connection issues

I'm having a problem connecting to my RDC at work from home through IE. I can connect on another computer that's hooked to the same router but at home its like the firewall is blocking access as all I get is that the connection is timed out.

I have verizon dsl with a westell 7500 modem/router that the 2 computers are hooked to. I only need to connect to one (PC A) remotely through the web. I have forwarded the port I assigned to PC A on the modem and created a static NAT for the IP on PC A. Also, I opened up the port in windows firewall.

According to verizon, I have a static modem IP and the modem assigns different IPs to whatever is connected to it and each gets a different IP every 24hours. Using a static NAT I am keeping PC A at its current IP.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong with trying to connect through IE at home or anywhere else? I need to be able to see this computer from anywhere.

Thanks!

ok I got the remote web connection to come up but when ever I try to connect all I get is:

"This computer can't connect to the remote computer.

Remote desktop cannot find the remote computer. Type the computer name or ip address again. and try connecting. If the problem continues try contacting the owner of the remote computer or the network administrator."

well I'm both the owner and the network administrator lol. I have triple checked all the ports and even tried disabling windows firewall. Anyone know what might be going on here?

Instead of trying to get RDC to work you might want to give TeamViewer a try. I prefer it over RDC and it's effortless to make work. Has many more features as well.
