I have an XP Pro disc, but I don't know if it's SP2? Is there a way I can check it or find out? Thanks guys & gals.

Hi,

If XP Pro is installed. Go to Start and Right Click on my computer and select propeties a box will come up and tell you what you version you have.

If you havn't installed it i'm not sure.

It's not currently installed. It's a back up disc I made a while ago. I lent the original to my father and he has since lost it (which is why I made the backup).

Then no sorry you can't check unless it says on the case (If you have it)

But you can update the SP2 when you install it by using Windows Update (If you can use it because it is a copy)

As long as you have a legit serial you can update. Critical updates are also available for people even with pirated versions of windows, via automatic update. Windows update blocks it, but auto update lets them update, for now.

Just thinking out loud here and don't know if you'd find anything, but what about putting it in the drive, then running a search for SP2 files on that drive. Might turn up some files you could use to ascertain whether or not it's SP2.

This is an SP2 file search off of my XPhome SP2 disc:

is.php

Nicely done, those are some files to look for, and they will be in all versions of Xp discs that have SP2.
