I recently intalled linux with the idea that i could clean off a "damaged" (virus) xp from one partitioning without losing to many of my music files...
I installed suse linux 10.1, copied across the files i wanted from the C:\ partition and went to reinstall XP on the C:\ partition. BUT when i inserted the XP disk and booted it it read "setup is checking your system's hardware" then went to black...
I did not load up the blue screen which alows you to reinstall windows even after 30minutes
How do it get xp disk to boot properly? and was this the most sensible way?
